This event will feature multiple simultaneous insertion points and multiple simultaneous objectives with time specific game play. Even though this op is objective driven we’ve carefully balanced trigger time with multiple timed objectives. Game controllers will monitor game flow and validate completion of objectives. This is an Airsoft event and not an actual true to 100 % detail reenactment of the real Operation Anaconda.

WARNING….WARNING…..You are advised to be physically fit and well hydrated!

This event will take place in the heart of the Texas summer.  Your safety is our # 1 priority.  Therefore this event will have a different format then previous UF installments.  There will be 2 battles, one in the morning and the second in the afternoon after a 1.5 hour lunch / recovery period.

Battle 1 will be the most physically demanding.  The terrain featured will be the rolling hills, creek, daunting knolls, canyon peaks and bottoms of TALON’s Widow Maker Canyon.  Be prepared!

Battle 2 will take place on TALON’s top ground featuring flat land with dense foliage.

TALON is a 300 acre field with a creek, a canyon, cedar and oak tree cover with hills. It’s located approximately 25 miles south of Abilene. This land is part of the WW II U. S. Army training base known then as Camp Barkley. It’s excellent Airsoft terrain. There are no structures on the property at this time. This will be a land battle. See you there!

Story Line

In November of 2009 Afghanistan’s Taliban regime fell. Some of the Taliban regime’s forces along with al-Qaida elements fled and continue to hold out in mountains.

In early 2010 increasing signals and human intelligence indicated a strong presence of Taliban and al-Qaeda (TAQ) fighters in the Shahi-Khot Valley. TAQ fighters are believed to be wintering and possibly preparing for a spring offensive in the valley. The signal intelligence also raised the possibility that high-value targets (HVTs) were present in the valley; among which were Jalaluddin Haqqani and Saif Rahman.

In late January and February of 2010 plans were drawn up to assault the Shahi-Khot Valley using the Afghan National Army (ANA) advised and assisted by U.S. special operators. This plan also was the first operation in the Afghanistan theater to involve a large number of U.S. conventional (i.e. non-Special Operations Forces) forces participating in direct combat activities.

In early March 2010, the United States military and CIA Paramilitary Officers, working with allied Afghan military forces, were ordered to destroy al-Qaeda and Taliban forces in the Shahi-Khot Valley of Afghanistan. However, a large scale invasion in another conflict forced planners to postpone this operation out of concern that ANA would be drawn away.

During this time the planners revisited and revised the operation. Fresh intelligence confirmed TAQ forces are indeed entrenched in caves and ridges in the mountainous terrain. Additional Intel indicates TAQ plans to utilize mortars and heavy machine guns on the approaching Coalition Force.

The Afghans have successfully defeated the Russian army twice in this valley, and are expecting events to pan out in a similar fashion. However, the Americans have a different outcome in mind.

Military Intelligence recently confirmed the two HVT’s are still operating in the area.

The “GO” order has been issued to launch OPERATION ANACONDA – 28 AUG 10.
